BOOK COACHING
MAKES IT EASY.

WORK WITH A BOOK COACH WHO UNDERSTANDS YOUR LIFE AS AN ENTREPRENEUR.

A PERFECT MATCH

Bill is a successful entrepreneur who lives on the east coast of the US. His latest company is on its way to being acquired for a large sum.

For years, Bill wanted to write a book but didn't know what book to write. All he knew was that he had a lot of experience as an entrepreneur and wanted to share it.

Bill hired ghostwriters to help him, but it didn't work out. He grew frustrated and wondered if he should give up on the idea. Then he stumbled onto our one-on-one book coaching service.

Our coaching was a perfect match for Bill. Together, we discovered that he needed a stronger vision of what he wanted his book to be, and what he wanted it to accomplish, before he began working with a ghostwriter. We walked him through our 7 Systems of Influence framework to help him refine his vision and goals, identify his ideal readers, and find a "why" for writing his book that sparked his excitement. We helped him find a ghostwriter and publisher, and continued to work with him on his author platform, personal brand, and PR.

If you know you have a book in you, but you’re struggling to get it out, let us make it easy for you. The world needs what you have to share.

BUILD YOUR THOUGHT LEADERSHIP SYSTEM...WITH A BOOK AT ITS CORE

What would it mean for your business dreams if you were the author of a book that established you as a thought leader in your space?

How many more deals would you land?

Would it be easier to recruit top talent and strategic partners?

A book is the best tool to help you educate your team on your philosophy and the culture you want to create.

And what would it mean if you not only had the book, but an entire thought leadership system—with your book at the center—working synergistically to help you attract attention and build authority?

There are many programs out there that will help you publish a book, but only a certified Published Author Coach will help you create a thought leadership system with a book at its core.

Thought leadership is so effective because:

  1. It puts a human face and name on your company.

  2. It's authentic and trustworthy.

  3. It's low-cost and long-lasting.

Most importantly, it's not only a way to attract attention you can use to grow your business, but to serve and make an impact as well.

YOUR BOOK COACH TEAM

 AS SEEN IN:

HOW IT WORKS

1. WEEKLY CALLS

Every week, or as needed, you and your coach will talk face-to-face via Zoom. These calls are designed to help you make rapid progress on your book by quickly iterating ideas with your coach and getting answers to your questions.

2. HOMEWORK

In between your coaching calls, you'll be given assignments so progress doesn't stop. These assignments are custom-made for your circumstances.

3. ACCOUNTABILITY

You're hiring us because you want to get your book done, and if we let you slide on your commitments we're not doing you any favors. That's why our coaches are trained to be understanding, yet direct. When they give you homework, it will be clear what's expected, and they will follow up to make sure it's getting done.

4. SUPPORT

You're a busy entrepreneur and writing a book is a large project. You probably don't have the time to do it all yourself. Your book coach is there to support you each step of the way by connecting you with resources that will make writing and published your book faster, better, and easier.

THE FIRST SIX MONTHS

Each coaching engagement is custom-designed for each client's specific needs.

You may already be 80% done with your book and just need help getting it across the finish line and figuring out the right book launch and marketing plan, or you may not even know what book you want to write. You may want to write the book yourself, or plan to hire a ghostwriter but want to make sure you're prepared first. No matter your situation, we can provide the support you need and guide you step-by-step.

Below is a sample of what a 6-month plan might look like for a client who is starting from scratch. Note: This is only a sample plan, and many of the details may be modified for your particular circumstances.

MONTH 1

  • Meet your coach

  • Review The 7 Systems of Influence, especially vision, genius zone, and ideal audience

  • Discover or refine your core idea

  • Decide on the right system for working on your book

  • Create a tentative title

  • Audit author platform and personal brand assets

  • Discuss pros and cons of traditional vs. hybrid vs. self-publishing and choose the appropriate option

  • Discuss team building (ghostwriter, editors, etc.)

  • Create 12-month, 6-month, 90-day, 30-day, and next-step plans

MONTH 2

  • Produce a thin outline

  • Decide: Write it yourself or hire a ghostwriter?

  • Begin work on "fat" outline

  • Research

  • Create author platform assets if needed, especially personal brand website and email list if not already in place

  • Write your origin story/bio

  • Update your plans

MONTH 3

  • More research

  • Complete fat outline

  • Begin "vomit" draft (first draft, very messy, clean up later)

  • Complete initial author platform overhaul

MONTH 4

  • Meet with developmental editor

  • Complete your first draft, create a copy, begin revising (this is your second draft)

  • Create copy of second draft, begin work on final manuscript

MONTH 5

  • Continue working on final draft

  • Enlist reviewers to write a blurb or endorsement for you

  • Enlist copy editor and proofreader for final editing

  • Finalize introduction, foreword, author bio, cover description and other details

  • Begin planning launch campaign

  • Meet with PR consultant

MONTH 6

  • Begin wrapping up final draft

  • Cover design

  • Work on executing launch campaign

Again, this is a rough outline of what a plan might possibly look like. It changes dramatically if you choose to work with a ghostwriter, if you self-publish vs. going after a traditional or hybrid publisher. There are many decisions to be made, and that's what we're here for, to help you know what the decisions are and how to make the right choices for you

JOSH’S STORY

In 2013, our founder, Josh Steimle, began creating a thought leadership system that  led to a $10M windfall for his business. That led him to research the best practices of highly-influential leaders throughout history and create The 7 Systems of Influence framework, used by our book coaches to help clients create their own success stories.

HOW A BOOK COACH CAN HELP

You've got questions, our book coaches have answers.

WHAT SHOULD MY BOOK BE ABOUT?

Your book coach will walk you through the 7 Systems of Influence framework to tie together your vision, genius zone, and ideal audience and help you find the book idea that will turn your vision into reality.

HOW DO I BUILD AN AUTHOR PLATFORM?

Need a personal brand website? How about an overhaul of your LinkedIn and other social media profiles? Your book coach can educate you on all the options, the pros and cons, and even help you set them up.

HOW DO I PROMOTE MY BOOK?

We've got connections to top book PR and marketing agencies, as well as in-house services to get you in the right media outlets. Your coach can walk you through all the options, as well as the process.

HOW DO I START WRITING MY BOOK?

After your book coach helps you create the right foundation, building your book on top of it will be straightforward. Your coach will also guide you as you create your title, subtitle, initial outline, and "fat" outline. If you need a ghostwriter, we can help you find the right one.

SHOULD I SELF-PUBLISH?

How will you measure the success of your book? Are you more interested in speed or credibility? How much does distribution matter to you? Your book coach will walk you through the pros and cons of each publishing method and guide you along the path that's right for you.

HOW DO I LEVERAGE MY BOOK?

Which strategy is best for you—high visibility or highly-targeted? Would you be better off on the New York Times bestseller list, or sending 200 copies of your book to potential clients? Your coach will help you examine the possibilities and choose the right opportunities.

Our book coaches will answer these and every other question you have about the process of writing, publishing, and marketing your book, as well as the process of setting up your thought leadership system.

WHAT THEY SAY

Stacy

I could do a lot of this myself, but if someone asks me to do something I feel like I show up more. I appreciate all of your help because otherwise I would have given up a long time ago!

Ben

Whereas before writing my book felt like a huge project, now I see the journey like painting, like brush strokes, and if I I keep coming back and putting the layers down then suddenly I've got 80% of my book done. It's been incredibly clarifying.

Blake

We just connected on the core values. Josh understood me. He's has inspired me to get outside my shell and put myself out there.
